Does earning 12 professional development hours in a sunny, southern location during the month of June sound like a great opportunity? Then the Multi-State Engineering Conference deserves a spot on your calendar.
This year, the Louisiana Engineering Society hosts the conference, which is located at the Sandestin Resort in Destin, Florida, June 28 – 30. Register Early to Save on Fees
If you register before May 30, the cost for non-members is $365. National Society of Professional Engineers or State Society members qualify for a discounted member rate of $210. Students get an even better deal, with a registration fee of $35. And if you’re married, your spouse can attend for free.
If you register after May 30, the cost will go up a little. Non-members will pay $415, members will pay $260, and students will pay $60. Spouses remain free, regardless of the registration date.
Different events require separate registration and additional fees. For example, meals cost an additional $10 – $30, and the golf tournament costs $100 at early registration and $115 after May 30. Here’s a link where you can register online.

Conference Activities Blend Education With Fun
Although the conference officially begins on June 28, orientation and planning meetings as well as board meetings take place one day earlier, on Saturday the 27th. Sunday is when the activities take off for all conference goers.
Registration opens on Sunday at 8:00 a.m. in the Sandestin Azalea Foyer / Azalea Corridor. Breakfast is available from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at a general session in the Azalea Foyer. Sessions run throughout the day, including a “Lunch & Learn,” and wind up for the evening at a 6:30 p.m. meet & greet with exhibitors over a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres.
Day two of the conference begins at 7:00 a.m. with a continental breakfast in the Azalea Foyer. After back-to-back morning sessions, there will be a general membership luncheon at 11:20 a.m. and a golf tournament at 2:00 p.m. Later, plan for night of fun with beach volleyball and a bonfire.
The final day of the conference begins with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and includes 3 sessions that run throughout the morning until 11:20 a.m. The conference closes out with a multi-state installation luncheon from 11:20 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
