- Alaska contractors must fulfill a requirement of 16 hours of continuing education to renew their Alaska contractors license every 2 years (even years). Up to 8 hours of this training can relate to business topics, while technical topics can account for 1 to 16 total hours.
- NEW for 2024: all General, Residential, Specialty, Mechanical, and Handyman Construction Contractors now have professional license expiration dates of 9/30 of even years. You are encouraged to renew prior to 9/30/24, but your license will not lapse until 1/1/2025 just for this year.
- Florida requires 14 hours of continuing education to be completed by August 31 every two years, depending on the license type. This includes a minimum of 1 hour each of the Advanced Building Code, Workers Compensation, Workplace Safety, Laws & Rules, and Business Practices. We offer two 14-hour packages that include ALL of these topics. The Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board approves the courses below; our CE course provider number is PVD1314.
- Residential contractors must meet the following continuing education requirements every two-year license period. All Licensees: 3 hours of CCB laws/regulations/business practices classes (These courses are only provided by the CCB)

- If You Have Been Licensed More Than Six Years: 5 hours of approved courses
- If You Have Been Licensed Less Than Six Years: 13 hours of approved courses

- Louisiana Residential Building Contractors: In conjunction with our sister company, AEI, our online continuing education classes are approved to fulfill the continuing education requirements.
- Residential Building Contractors are required to complete a minimum of 6 Hours of Continuing Education every year no later than December 31st.
- If a Residential Building Contractor also holds a valid, current commercial license in the major classifications of: building construction; highway, street and bridge construction; heavy construction; or municipal and public works construction, the six-hour requirement is considered to have been met The LSLBC does not approve individual courses, just the continuing education providers themselves. You will not see LSLBC approval numbers with the course descriptions.
- CSL
- Unrestricted Construction Supervisors (license number begins with CS) are required to take 12 hours, Restricted Licenses (license number begins with CSFA) are required to take 10 hours, and Specialty Licenses (starting with CSSL) are required to take 6 hours.
- Hoisting
- All fully licensed Hoisting operators are required to obtain continuing education during every 2 year license cycle. Class 1A, 1B, 1C, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 3A and 4A are required to complete 4 hours of continuing education every 2 years. Class 1D, 4B, 4C, 4D, 4E, 4E, 4F and 4G are required to complete 2 hours every 2 years.
- If you have held your license for less than 6 years, you must complete: 21 hours per license cycle. This includes 3 hours covering the mandatory topics and 18 hours of elective topics. Please note: You need to complete a minimum of 3 hours each year.
- If you have held your license for more than 6 years, you must complete: 3 hours per license cycle. These hours must cover the mandatory topics.
- The mandatory topics are:
- 1 hour covering building codes and laws related to the licensed occupation
- 1 hour covering safety
- 1 hour covering changes in construction and business management laws
- Residential builders (QB), Remodelers (QC), and Roofers (QR) must obtain 14 hours of continuing education every renewal.
- Each qualifying party for a residential license must complete two (2) credit hours of continuing education taught by a board approved provider each year in order to maintain a residential license pursuant to Miss. Code Ann. §73-59-11. The continuing education requirement applies to all residential licenses issued on or after July 1, 2015.
- The North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors (NCLGBC) requires licensed general contractors to complete 8 hours of annual continuing education annually. The 8-hour CE requirements include:
- A mandatory 2-hour course produced by the NGLBGC with information about changes in the laws and rules and other content applicable to general contracting.
- 6 hours of elective courses from an approved continuing education provider, such as PDH Academy.
- All residential contractors, including contractors who perform both residential and commercial work, are required to obtain 2.5 hours of continuing education prior to each annual renewal.
- Contractor licenses are renewed biennially and issued for two (2) years. The expiration date is on the last date of the month, in which the license was originally issued. The state requires eight (8) hours of continuing education for residential contractors to be completed every two (2) years.
- Dwelling Contractor Qualifiers are required to complete 12 hours of continuing education every 2 years.
