Course Instructor
Jodie Ellis holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Texas Tech University and became a licensed architect in Texas in 2005. Her early exposure to accessibility design during college evolved into a lifelong commitment after personal experiences with her family highlighted the challenges of inaccessible environments. With over 15 years of experience in designing for accessibility, she became a Registered Accessibility Specialist for the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation in 2015. Jodie combines her professional expertise and personal insights to advocate for creating inclusive spaces that meet diverse needs.
California NetZero Design – A Guide for Architects (AIAPDH733): 5 LU/HSW
Course Description
This course is designed to address the complex topics that feed into the goals for achieving a NetZero environment. The discourse in this course is from the objective of NetZero as it pertains to engaging architects for the purpose of understanding what is meant by Net Zero, what are the related topics, who are the involved stakeholders, and how their work affects building designs and vice versa.
Course Instructor
This course is instructed by Sandy Stannard, based on a work originally authored by Muhammad A. Siddiqui. Ms. Stannard is a licensed architect in California and professor of architecture courses at Cal Poly, focusing on ecological awareness and sensitivity. She has made updates throughout the course to ensure the most recent information is presented. Mr. Siddiqui is a licensed architect in Michigan, California, and Texas, with over 30 years of experience.
