Climate Change Solutions – The Role of the Engineer

Course Description:
This webinar focuses on defining the climate change problem and then looking at how engineers can be a part of solving the problem. After a summary of recent history of energy use and greenhouse gas production by sector, a scenario of future engineering solutions to CO 2 reduction and the economic effects of an aggressive approach to a solution vs the economics of ignoring the problem will be discussed.

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of the course, you should be familiar with:

1. Primary energy use by sector in the U.S.
2. Fossil fuel use by sector in the U.S.
3. Historic and present electrical generation fuel mix in the U.S.
4. Historic and present CO2 generation by sector in the U.S.
