Water storage tanks ensure the reliable supply of high pressure potable water for a community. They typically hold a reserve of water for fire fighting. Finished water storage tanks are found at most water treatment plants as the last process prior to high service pumping. Water tanks or water towers also exist remotely in the distribution system. This course covers the purpose and function of water storage tanks, industry standards, elevated tanks, tank sizing, mixing options, and the design of key features.
