Tunnels have been around for thousands of years and the technology of building and surveying them has greatly increased over time. A tunnel is an underground passageway through either a mountain, hill, building, road or waterway to establish access on both sides. This course will give you information about the history of tunnels as well as some steps to take towards successful surveying of tunnels. Tunnel surveying is one of the most difficult tasks of the land surveying profession. This form of surveying typically falls under construction and is considered a sub-professional task.
