Bundle Description
This bundle provides 2 PDH hours and includes an approved Florida Laws and Rules course and an approved Florida Ethics course.
Courses Included:
Laws and Rules Update for Florida PEs
This course covers Chapter 61G15-34 of the Florida Administrative Code which relates to “responsibility rules” for mechanical engineers. The responsibility rules are found in Chapters 61G15-30 through 61G15-36, F.A.C.
These rules help in identifying and maintaining a minimum standard of care. They eliminate the question of what a “reasonable professional” would do, helping to avoid disciplinary actions. As a Florida professional engineer, it is important to know what these minimum standards are, as failure to comply with these responsibility rules may be considered non-compliance and can result in disciplinary action. The remainder of these responsibility rules can be found at: http://fbpe.org/legal/statutes-and-rules/.
Ethical Professional Obligations for Florida PEs
This course will present essential principles from the 2019 Publication of the National Society of Professional Engineers’ (NSPE) Code of Ethics for Engineers. The NSPE Code of Ethics for Engineers was selected for its broad scope, which can be applied to all fields of engineering from electrical to mechanical to chemical. The full Code of Ethics for Engineers can be found on the NSPE website here: https://www.nspe.org/.
