Description
Course Description:
In this course, we will examine what we do know about this ubiquitous, ever-present, radioactive gas, why more and more, it tends to accumulate in our buildings, the danger that represents to the health of occupants and what exactly can be done to lower our increasing risk.
Learning Objectives
- Learn what about the invisible danger of radon and how we are exposed and the health risks associated with exposure.
- Examine regions and how radon concentrations differ in those regions to equip your design plans to be effective towards radon mitigation.
- Understand the active and passive systems available that can be installed to lower levels of buildings.
- Understand different ways to mitigate radon accumulation, with different foundation types.
