The purpose of this course is to inform the reader of the current changes affecting accounting and financial reporting, as well as a review and recall of existing accounting standards. Topics include a summary of newly issued FASB statements, current and pending developments, practice issues, and more. Chapter 1 will discuss the new lease accounting rules, chapter 2 is on financial instruments, chapter 3 is on revenue recognition, chapter 4 discusses GAAP changes, chapter 5 goes over balance sheet classification of deferred taxes and chapter 6 talks about simplifying the measurement of inventory.
