This recently revised 5 CE hour California Accessibility Course discusses many of the issues facing architects when working with both new and existing facilities. The 2013 California Building Code (CBC) integrated the most accessible provisions of the 2010 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards and the 2010 California Building Code into a single comprehensive code. The approved regulations included 171 amendments that incorporated existing California provisions which provide greater accessibility than ADA standards. They also included 41 amendments that struck federal provisions which would have diminished California’s current level of accessibility. These accessibility provisions were effective of as January 1, 2014.
