Frequently Asked Questions
Do you report my results to my state Professional Engineer Licensing Board?
You will provide a copy of your Professional Engineer CE certificates of completion with your license and check the box letting them know you completed your mandatory Professional Engineer continuing education. If the board audits you, they will ask you to provide your certificates of completion for your Professional Engineer continuing education courses.
Do you offer the Florida Advanced Building Code Course for Professional Engineers?
Yes. We offer continuing education for Florida Professional Engineers and we are an approved provider for the Florida Board of Professional Engineers.
Which Professional Engineers need to take the Florida Advanced Building Code Course?
Florida Professional Engineers whose practice includes the design of engineering works or systems in connection with buildings, structures, or facilities and systems covered by the Florida Building Code, you should have completed the advanced course on the 7th edition of the code by December 31, 2021, or prior to designing engineering projects covered by the code, in order to retain the “Special Qualifications” designation on your licensure record, pursuant to Florida Statute 471.0195. You may also complete the Advanced Building course to simply fulfill 2 hours of Area of Practice, you have until February 28, 2023 to complete the course.
Do you offer any classroom engineering continuing education courses?
PDH Academy offers live webinars, on-demand courses and correspondence continuing education to renew your engineering license. We do not currently offer any classroom continuing education courses. In our experience, most students prefer to complete their engineering continuing education online using their computer, smartphone, or tablet.
If I purchase one of your online Professional Engineer continuing education course bundles, can I complete one of the courses now, and the rest next renewal period?
Yes. Our Professional Engineer CE courses do not expire and can be completed over multiple license renewal periods.
I have my Professional Engineer license in multiple states. If I purchase one of your Professional Engineer continuing education courses online will the continuing education hours only count for one state or multiple states?
Yes. Our Professional Engineer continuing education courses can be used for multiple state license renewals.
Do I need to be a licensed Professional Engineer to take one of your Professional Engineer continuing education courses?
No. We have students from different backgrounds take our Professional Engineer CE courses fairly regularly, so if you want to learn more about any of our Professional Engineer-related course topics feel free to enroll right online.
I received one of your Professional Engineer continuing education books in the mail and would like to be removed from your mailing list. How can I accomplish that?
If you received one of our Professional Engineer continuing education courses and would like to be removed from our mailing list feel free to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and provide us with your name, address, and what state(s) you are currently a licensed Professional Engineer in.
You sent me one of your Professional Engineer continuing education books in the mail and I already have my continuing education hours. Can I give the book to someone else?
Yes. You can feel free to give our Professional Engineer continuing education book to a friend or colleague.
After I complete my Professional Engineer continuing education courses, do I send my Professional Engineer license renewal application to you?
No. You will send in your Professional Engineer license renewal application to your state licensing board. The Professional Engineer license renewal application should have an address on it telling you where to send it or where to renew online. Many state Professional Engineer licensing boards will allow Professional Engineers to renew online these days.
